In most reports, PANI-based electrodes work within a potential window of −0.2–0.8 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) in the three-electrode system and achieve an operating voltage of 0.8 V in the symmetric cell. Despite the high specific capacitance of PANI, such a low voltage limits its energy density, which is proportional to the square of the cell voltage.
